It is said that in Mexico hot and cold springs can be found side by side. That phenomenon is a convenience for the women to bring their laundry and wash clothes in the hot and rinse in the cold springs. A tourist asked his guide as he watched, ‘I imagine that they are thankful for such an ample supply of hot and cold water for their use’. His guide replied, ‘no Senor, there is much grumbling because the soap is not supplied,’ we should be thankful for what God has supplied, not grumble because of what we don’t have.

“the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1

Forgiveness is man’s deepest need and God’s highest achievement. Forgiveness is possibly one of the most difficult acts for a human being to do. We are to forgive as Christ forgave us. “For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God” Col. 3:3. We cannot be one in Christ without being forgiven and forgiving one another. “For be ye kind one to another even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” Eph. 4:32. We forgive to the degree that we love, “but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little” Luke 7:47.

We are blessed to have Sheila here at Hart Haven as our music director. This year we will have an event that the church has not had in recent years. Sheila has created a Christmas musical program and will be performed here on Christmas eve by some members of the Fort Caroline Baptist Senior Choir. I encourage anyone that would like to  be a part of the choir to see Sheila. It is will require practice so please do not procrastinate. You will be blessed as well as being a blessing to the church.

Also, I want to thank all veterans for their service. you are the reason our country is still free.

We are approaching the holiday season and for many it is their favorite time of the year. However, as usual it will be celebrated by the secular world with parties, shopping and family gatherings with much enthusiasm. Sadly, a great number of the population will not be celebrating for the right reason. First for the prosperity and provision He has bestowed upon our nation. And second, for His Son Jesus who came in to this world as a baby for the purpose of dying for sinful man. Christmas is the best time of the year to share the gospel of Jesus  even thought He is not the focus of the secular world. He is the reason for the season. As such, we have an exciting opportunity to share Jesus to our community. We must put our faith in a real Jesus, not a magical Santa Claus and teach our children and grand children the true reason for the season.
