HISTORY

Isaiah D. Hart was the founder of Jacksonville.  He once owned a plantation that was known as his haven away from the hustle of town, and the community became known as Hart Haven.  Once a thriving area of Jacksonville in the 40’s and 50’s, many businesses used the name Hart Haven.  Hart Haven Baptist Church was established in 1947 with a few founding members who were a part of the community.  It grew over the years to have over 200 members, proving a haven of worship to many families.  The church as a rich history and has continued to be a light in a community that has changed.  The congregation is loving and welcoming to all who want to join in fellowship.

BELIEFS

Hart Haven Baptist Church is part of the Southern Baptist Convention.  We believe in the inerrancy and authority of Scripture and that the nature of God is expressed through His Word.  We believe in the Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  It is through believe in Jesus Christ that sinful man finds grace and salvation.   We believe in the ordinances of Believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper with represent the death and resurrection of Christ.  The purpose of our fellowship is to bring awareness to unbelievers of the need for Christ and to disciple all believers.  

Our Mission

Hart Haven Baptist Church is a growing and excited fellowship of believers, committed to the Bible as God’s Word, and empowered by the Holy Spirit; dedicated to glorifying God by exalting Jesus Christ in worship, prayer, stewardship, Bible study, and through a loving fellowship. We believe in evangelizing the lost through verbal and personal witness that Jesus Christ is the way to eternal and abundant life. We equip the saints for the work of the Great Commission enabling both home and foreign missions through sacrificial support to advance the Gospel.

Our Vision

Our vision is to build a family of devoted followers of Christ that worship God, shares Christ’s hope and love, and ministers to each others’ needs making believers out of unbelievers, and disciples out of believers.
